Establishing Islam on the Internet
The Testimony (Shahadah) is the declaration that there is only one God (and also that Muhammad [s] is the Messenger of God).
These points highlight the importance of it.
1. Purpose of creation
![]()
I have not created mankind or jinn except that they may worship me. [Adh-Dhariyat: 56]
2. Reason for sending Prophets

And we sent to every nation a Messenger (to order people to) worship Allah and refrain from the Taghut. [An-Nahl: 36]
3. Reason for revealing books

He sends down the angels with the inspiration by His commandment on whom He pleases of His servants, saying: Give the warning that there is no god but Me, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. [An-Nahl: 2]
4. Differentiates between a Muslim and a kafir

It is He who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are Believers. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do. [At- Tagabun: 2]
5. Following Tawhid is a cause of peace in this life and Hereafter

Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery. [Ta-Ha: 123]
6. First call that we have been commanded to do

‘o mankind! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you so that you may fear him.’ [Al-Baqarah: 21]
7. Right of Allah over us

“Verily the right of Allah upon his slaves is that they worship him and not associate anyone in partners with him and the right of the slaves upon Allah is that He does not punish those who do not commit Shirk with him.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
8. Cause for Entering Paradise

Whoever testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah will enter jannah. [AtTirrnidhi]
9. Forgives all sins; prevents fire of hell
Abdullah bin Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah said: A man will be brought along to the balances on the Day of Resurrection, and there will be brought out for him ninety nine scrolls, every scroll of them stretching when unrolled) as far as an eye can reach, in which are written his sins and his guilty acts, and they will be put in one pan of the Balances. Then a small card will be brought out on which is written the Testimony of Faith: There is no true god except Allah, and Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, which will be put in the other pan, and it will outweigh all his wrongdoing. [Reported by Ibn Majah]
And finally: Dangers of Its Opposite

Verily Allah does not forgive that you should associate anyone as partners with Him, however He forgives anything less than that to whoever He wishes. Whoever associates anyone as partners with Allah then he has surely fabricated a tremendous lie. [An-Nisaa: 48]
